Squirrel Removal

Remember, like most wild animal feces, there is the chance of contracting diseases if you’re not careful or if you don’t practice proper hygiene and cleanliness after handling it. If squirrels decide they want to enter other parts of your home, you can expect a lot of damage to the wall-boards leading into your home or ceiling. Gestation is about 44 days. If your garden is being damaged and you see some of the other signs mentioned above, you can assume your wildlife problem is squirrel, if you need the help from the professionals you can visit the national Wildlife Control Directory. Even squirrels enjoy a peaceful night’s rest. Gaining entrance to the attic through holes that are about two inches in diameter that you’ve never seen before. Open all doors and windows that lead outside. The most frequently invaded areas are garages and attics. What do you do if you see shingle damage? You will need to do two things, one is the process of humanely removing the squirrel and securing the entry point and, secondly you’ll need professional attic repair.

Attic Restoration

In most circumstances, everyday people will not have 5-10K laying around to have their attic restored. A trained professional attic restoration technician will clean, disinfect, and repair the attic using an air filter and protective clothing. We start by assessing its current condition, determining what materials can remain. Wild animals just don’t seem to want to use the toilet or go outside to poop. So it’s important to address these problems by cleaning, decontaminating, and restoring the attic to its original state. We offer homeowners attic cleaning, attic restoration, and attic insulation. There are at least 42 important diseases that people get by ingesting or handling food or water contaminated with animal feces, such as Campylobacter infection, which us found in animal feces, and causes gastrointestinal symptoms. Although a great effort is made to remove as much of the waste as possible, a great deal is left behind.

Rat Removal

Roof rats are also food hoarders, stashing supplies of food such as seeds and nuts. Roof rats are more aerial than Norway rats in their habitat selection and often live in trees or on vine-covered fences. Shooting is rarely effective by itself and should be done in conjunction with trapping or baiting programs. Such caches may be found in a dismantled wood pile, attic, or behind boxes in a garage. That is not the case! They sleep in your attic all day, and then at dusk they wake up, and start moving around, and that’s why you hear them after dark. The muzzle of the roof rat is pointed and the overall appearance of the roof rat is much more streamlined and sleek looking than a Norway rat.

Raccoon Removal

I’ve written about various ways of how to kill raccoons. It’s basically a small snapping clamp device staked down in some fashion. How To Target The Correct Animal? One problem amateurs encounter is that they set a trap and catch every other animal in the neighborhood, instead of the animal that is causing the problem. Most of the bait should be set in the very back of the trap behind the trip pan. Or, if it is legal, you must kill and dispose of the animal on your property at the time of capture. Of course, when in an attic, be mindful to walk only on the wooden beams, or you’ll fall through the ceiling. You can also try raccoon prevention techniques instead of strict removal, but in many cases, getting them out of the area completely is the only way to go. However, it, or one of its young, might decide to stay. Once a raccoon has established a home in an attic, it takes more than a bad odor to make it leave – you wouldn’t abandon your home if someone spread some mothballs inside. If you want to keep raccoons away, it’s very hard, and only a few very aggressive tactics might work. And poison won’t solve the root of the problem, as I’ll discuss below. The presence of these young complicates the matter of removing raccoons, because if you trap and remove the adult female, the young are left behind.

Bat Removal

Studies have shown bats have returned from distances of up to 150 miles, so trapping and “moving” bats only creates a false sense of security for homeowners who see the bats “caught and hauled away”. After 1 or 2 weeks (or sometimes late fall), the devices are removed and the access holes are repaired and sealed. They end up flying around in your living room. We inspect the rooftop and check the lower rooflines, along with all dormers, window frames, and other potential bat entry points. There are significant health risks associated with removing bat guano, bird or animal dropping accumulations. Absolutely not! Aside from being illegal and immoral (even if you don’t give a crap), every attempt I’ve seen has resulted in disaster for the property owner. Above are some photos I’ve taken at various bat jobs. As I said, I trained for many years and did dozens of jobs before I got good at it. Bats do not chew their way into structures! They only use gaps and holes that already exist, and locate them by sensing air currents and temperature. Certain bat species may hibernate in groups or “clusters”, so a single bat appearing in your home during the winter could possibly indicate there are more bats hibernating in the structure.
